今日のブログは、ブックマーククラスの報告です。Sen Craft Wire Englishでは、毎月オリジナルデザインのワイヤー作品を英語でレッスンしながら制作します。今月は、ゴリラのワイヤーブックマークを制作しました。日本語の記事の下に、英語がありますので、英語の勉強ついでに読みたい方は、ぜひ英語の方もお読みください。
ワイヤーアートを初めて習う方でも簡単に扱えるように、針金、そしてデザインも工夫をしてます。これも、意外と毎月新作を考えるのは、難しいのですが、意外とアイデアは身近なところにあったりします。
今回のデザインのアイデアは、名古屋の東山動物園のゴリラ、シャバーニをとても尊敬している私の英語の生徒さんからインスピレーションを受けました。 シャバーニについては、全然知らなくて、いつも生徒さんが、写真などを見せてくれながら英会話のレッスンの中で、英語で説明してくれました。好きなことをトピックにするのも、英会話が話しやすくなるのでいいですね。私も、英会話のレッスンの中で、日本の知らないことを教えてもらえるので楽しいです。
Sen Craft Wire Englishのブックマーククラスは、ワイヤーを触ったことがないまったくの初心者向けのレッスンで、特にできるだけシンプルでわかりやすい形を基本にデザインしています。
実は、私は頭の中でデザインを考えて、一度針金を使って試作します。それを、そのままスキャンしてテンプレートにすることもありますし、先に、なんとなくのデザインを書いてから、試作することもあります。針金の太さやなどによっても、作りやすさがかなり変わるので、実は、何度も試作を重ねて最終のデザインを完成させています。
シンプルなデザインですが、隠れた苦労があるんです。最初に書いたように、ゴリラは、生徒さんとの英会話レッスンの中から生まれたデザインです。シャバーニについて、色々と調べるところから始まりましたよ。今回のレッスン初披露のゴリラ（シャバーニ風）でしたが、生徒の皆さんは、シャバーニを知っていました！！やっぱり有名なんですね。

英会話を通じてつながりを築く
レッスンでは、ワイヤー制作に入る前に、講師も含めてみんなの自己紹介をし、その時のトピックなどを英語で話して、私の話す英語に慣れてもらったり、クラスの中で話しやすい雰囲気になるようにしています。生徒さんが理解しやすいようにできるようにゆっくりとはっきりと話しをしています。英語に自信がない方でもご安心ください！ Sen Craft Wire Englishでは、英語のレベルに関係なく、誰でも受講できますし、ワイヤー制作を通して英語を聞くので、動きと英語を一度に聞くことになるので、自然と講師の話していることがわかってくるようになります。製作中は、静かになることが多いですが、講師は英語で話し続けるので、段々と英語を聞くことや質問することにも慣れてきて、 語彙力が向上し、達成感を感じながらクラスを終えることができます。
ワイヤー技術と安全性
え？安全性？と感じる方も多いですが、ワイヤーをニッパーで切るときに、針金が飛ぶことがあります。目に当たると大変です。なので、安全に制作してもらうために、参加者全員に安全メガネを提供しています。
レッスン内容
今月は、ゴリラ（シャバーニ風）ワイヤーブックマークレッスンです。
Step 1: 講師がワイヤー ゴリラのブックマークの形と仕上げ方を詳しく実演します。 生徒さんは、疑問があれば質問してもらっています。生徒さんは制作に関連した英語のフレーズを教えられます。 これらのフレーズはレッスン全体で繰り返されるので、子供が遊びを通じて言語を学ぶのと同じように、生徒が自然にフレーズを覚えるようになります。生徒さんに、「あ、なるほど！」わかりやすく伝わるように、「ぎゅーっ」とか、「くるっと回して」などそのほうがわかると思うときはときどき日本語を使ったりしてよりわかってもらうようにしています。
Step 2：次は、実践です。道具類はすべてお貸しするので、それを使いながら制作していきます。生徒全員がゴリラを完成させたら、自分のスピードで他のデザインのブックマークを制作します。初めての人でも、４個〜５個位のブックマークを作っていました。
ワイヤークラフトと英会話の利点
英語で学ぶクラフトワイヤー制作は、もちろん作品を完成させる達成感などありますが、普通の英会話レッスンでは緊張したり、何を質問すればわからないという事もあるかもしれませんが、英語で学ぶクラフトワイヤーなので、製作途中で質問しないとわからない部分がでてくるので、自然と質問をすることができるので、質問をしないと。とか次は自分の順番だから緊張する。といったグループレッスンにありがちな焦りはありません
集中力と実践的な会話
ワイヤーを扱う作業は細部に注意を払う必要があり、集中力を高めます。これは、意外と集中力を維持することで、新しい語彙やフレーズをより効果的に吸収できる助けになります。クラス全体を通して、生徒はワイヤークラフトに関連する英語のフレーズや語彙に触れます。 実践的な会話で練習することで、言語スキルを強化し語彙を増やします。つまりは、何度も聞く、何度も話すということが大切ですね。何度か繰り返し聞いたり、しているうちに、

Crafting Wire Bookmarks:A Fun English Conversation Experience in Osaka
Welcome to Osaka English Conversation School! In today’s blog post, we’ll be discussing the wire project of the month. In a recent session, I had a great time creating a wire bookmark in the shape of a gorilla.
This project was inspired by one of my English students who greatly admires Shabani, the western lowland gorilla at Higashiyama Zoo in Nagoya. Find out more about our fun class and creating this unique bookmark.
Making Gorilla Wire Bookmarks: Beginner Class
Our Wire Bookmarks class is designed with the absolute beginner in mind. It’s an easy and engaging class where you can be proud of your work and show off to your family and friends.Build connections through English conversation:
The class begins with an opportunity for students to get to know the teacher and ask questions about his life before beginning the wire project. The teacher will speak slowly and clearly so that all students can understand.
Don’t worry if you don’t have confidence in your English abilities! Our classes are open to anyone regardless of their level of English. Your vocabulary will improve and you will finish the class with a sense of accomplishment.
Introduction to wire technology and safety:
The class starts by providing safety glasses to all participants to ensure a safe crafting experience. Teachers demonstrate how to use the tools and give students hands-on experience with wires to build confidence. Throughout the session, students are encouraged to ask questions and practice wire working techniques taught by the teacher.
How to Make a Gorilla Wire Bookmark: Step by Step Let’s take a step-by-step look at the process of creating a wire gorilla bookmark.
Step 1: Your teacher will demonstrate in detail the shape and finish of the wire gorilla bookmark. Students are encouraged to ask questions and clarify any doubts. Students are taught project-related English phrases. These phrases are repeated throughout the lesson, allowing students to internalize the phrases naturally in the same way that children learn language through use.
In the next part, the teacher once again guides the students through the process, and the students follow along with their own gorilla bookmarks, step by step. The teacher will always provide support to students who need it along the way.Once all students have completed the gorilla, they will have the skills to work on various other bookmarks at their own speed.
